What do you get out of it?

Your existing product list becomes your catalogue without anyone retyping it. Fill the supplied Excel template on a PC, upload it, and the products land with their prices, codes and opening stock intact.

How does it work?

  1. 1

    Start from the template

Download the product import template rather than inventing a column order. It carries the fields the importer expects, so the upload is a fill-in rather than a mapping exercise.

  2. 2

    Excel format, .xlsx

The importer accepts .xlsx files. That is the format every phone spreadsheet app and every accountant's PC already produces.

  3. 3

    Long codes survive

EAN and ISBN barcodes are read as text rather than left to Excel's habit of turning a thirteen-digit number into scientific notation. This is the single most common reason a product import comes out wrong elsewhere.

  4. 4

You get a result, not a silence

The import reports what came through, so a partially bad sheet is something you can see and correct rather than a mystery.

What situations does it handle?

A messy list from an old system

Paste what you have into the template columns. You do not need to clean the export first — the template defines the shape.

Only some products have barcodes

Leave the column blank where you have none. A missing barcode does not stop a product importing.

You would rather start small

Nothing requires a bulk import at all. Twenty fast movers typed in by hand is a perfectly good first day.

How do you get more out of it?

  • Import your fastest sellers first and bill from them the same day. The rest can follow as stock arrives.
  • Keep the filled template — it doubles as a backup of your catalogue and as the starting point next time you add a range.
  • Enter long barcodes as text in Excel before uploading and they survive the round trip exactly as printed on the packet.

Common questions

Do I have to type in all my products?

No. Download the Excel template, paste your list into it — name, price, codes, opening stock — and upload it back. The products arrive with their details intact.

What file format does the import accept?

Excel .xlsx files, against a template you download from inside the app so the columns match what the importer expects.

Will my barcodes import correctly?

Yes. Long numeric codes like EAN and ISBN are read as text rather than being converted to scientific notation, which is the usual reason barcodes come out mangled.
